Spooky cakes should be year-round!
I love Halloween!!
Most of my favorite cakes that I’ve designed for Sundbakes have been spooky, haunted cakes.
October is a perfect time for a ghostly cake, but please feel free to order them all year-round. There’s never a bad day for a Frankenstein macaron or a haunted house cake!
Jeff and I go on weird movie adventures, and lately we've been watching all of the original horror monster movies. It's an excellent pastime, I highly recommend it!
If you'd prefer, you can eat the monsters as hand-painted macarons or cake. I'm happy to make them for you.
I'm now prepared to make themed sets on any of the following with a crazy amount of detail:
Nosferatu (1922) -Totally silent, great scene of vampire carrying own coffin.
Dracula (1931) - Dracula is super suave
Frankenstein (1931) - Surprisingly fun
The Mummy (1932) - The mummy is only a mummy for like 10 minutes. But not bad!
The Invisible Man (1933) - Hilarious
Bride of Frankenstein (1935) - Bride only in last ten minutes, but she steals the show
The Wolf Man (1941) - Meh. Only true dud in the bunch!
I married a Witch (1942) - Very funny with great practical effects
Village of the Damned (1960) - Excellent, like a Twilight Zone Episode.
Children of the Damned (1964) - Still great!
Shout out to the Minot Public Library where we rented all of these. You're the best!
