Booking Contract

Thank you for choosing Sundbakes! By paying for your order, you are agreeing to the policies below.

Design:

  • Remember that each item is a unique work of art. One of the reasons my bakes are so beautiful is because I use creative license with every item. No two items will ever be exactly the same, and I may need to change my original design to maintain the beauty or structural integrity of the item.

  • I am unable to exactly match colors on cakes, cookies, or macarons.

  • Changes to the design or flavor must be requested in an email as early as possible, and will result in a new invoice that must be paid to confirm the changes. Changes are subject to my availability, and may not be possible.

Payment:

  • Orders are not confirmed until payment is made. Deposits are non-refundable. Unpaid invoices do not save a date. Unpaid invoices will automatically close after the due date or if the date fills prior to the due date.

  • Custom orders have a $50 minimum.

  • If you need to cancel your order and have already paid in full, please inform me by email at least 14 days before the pick up date for a 50% refund. Orders canceled less than two weeks prior to the pick up date will not be eligible for a refund.

Company Responsibility:

  • Sundbakes is a Minot home bakery operating under North Dakota's cottage food laws. As such, products are made in a home kitchen that is not subject to inspection by the state or local health department.

  • All Sundbakes products are made in my home kitchen, with supplies that are regularly used to process peanuts, tree nuts (almond flour) and gluten. Therefore, persons with any nut, gluten, or other food allergies consume bakes at their own risk. Unfortunately, Sundbakes cannot create allergy safe bakes because of these limitations. Sundbakes cannot be held responsible for any medical issues that arise from consuming products.

  • In the case of an unavoidable event, such as extremely hazardous weather conditions or a sudden family emergency for Elizabeth, Sundbakes cannot be held responsible for more than the cost of the order. A full or partial refund will be offered to the client. In the case of a sudden family emergency for Elizabeth, Sundbakes will make every effort to help find a new talented baker to fulfill the client’s order.

Pick up:

  • Orders must be picked up at the agreed upon time. I try to be as flexible as possible, but you will need to make back up plans to retrieve your items in the event of illness or other unexpected situations. You will be sent an email a few days before collection to select your pick up time. If you do not select a time, I will switch to contactless porch pick up.

  • I am unable to store items beyond the scheduled pick up time, especially cakes. Bakes that are not picked up as scheduled will be placed in a cooler on my front step for the remainder of the day. Sundbakes cannot be held responsible for the items once placed in the cooler after a missed pick up, but the cooler provides good basic protection from the elements. I know life gets busy, so the cooler is a great back up plan. However, items not picked up from the cooler by 9:00 pm that day will be eaten by myself, my neighbors, or a local charity.

  • Changing the pick up time or date is subject to my availability. Please email as early as possible with requested changes.

  • Delivery within Minot starts at $30, subject to my availability. Set up is not included in this price, and I cannot be held responsible for the items after dropping them off.

Caring for your bakes:

  • I package my bakes as securely as possible, but cannot be held responsible for baked goods once they are picked up. Cakes should be transported securely on a flat surface, NOT on the seat of your car. The best spot is the floor on the passenger side, with your car air conditioning on high.

  • Cakes must be stored in your refrigerator and are best eaten within two days. Bring the cake to room temperature for thirty minutes prior to eating. Heat sealed cookies last about two weeks at room temperature. Macarons should be kept refrigerated, then allowed to come to room temperature on the counter for 20 minutes before eating. Macarons should be eaten within one or two days.

  • Please never leave bakes out in summer heat, direct sunlight, or near a heat source. Your cakes and macarons will melt if kept at room temp or above for an extended period.

  • I use wooden center dowels in all of my cakes. Large cakes will have both dowels and supports inside that must be removed as you cut the cake.

Communication:

  • All communication about your order will be conducted over email. Please add elizabeth.sund@gmail.com to your safe contacts. All communication about the order and scheduling pick up will by conducted by email.
